Blocks

This shape that was created on Ued has no connection with my drawing. It was the only thing that I could make

Quotes for Experiment 2

Goodall• The more we learn of the true nature of non-human animals, especially those with complex brains and corresponding complex social behavior, the more ethical concerns are raised regarding their use in the service of man -- whether this be in entertainment, as "pets," for food, in research laboratories, or any of the other uses to which we subject them.

Nightingale• Asceticism is the trifling of an enthusiast with his power, a puerile coquetting with his selfishness or his vanity, in the absence of any sufficiently great object to employ the first or overcome the last. [1857]

Hawking

It is a waste of time to be angry about my disability. One has to get on with life and I haven't done badly. People won't have time for you if you are always angry or complaining.
Stephen Hawking, Interview with The Guardian (UK) September 27, 2005
English cosmologist and physicist (1942 - )

Photoes of My final SketchUp submission (edited 18.4.08)

You will see that I applied four of my best textures onto the design of my sketchup: they are 'reflective' on the angles of the lower gallery roof, 'flexible' on the lower floor, 'amorphous' on the upper gallery exterior walls, and 'cratered' on part of the lower gallery roof design and feature wall of the exhibition space.
You will see the lack of colour on the upper gallery, as to covey the soberity of the expression of 'moody'.
Also, in the lower gallery space, the use of red as a colour feature reflects the passion and the hierarchy often associated with ideas of 'satirical'

Animation one is of my upper space

Animation two is of my upper stairs - the stairs are very intricate

Animation three is of my lower stairs and lower space

My YouTube Video

This is a video we made in Yr11; it is highly embarrasing and I suggest that no one watch it.
I posted this video as it reflects on the use of camera angles and modes for the development of a theme

Revisiting my 18 sketches

Week 3 submission continued - Including my developed sketchUp

After the advice of the tutor, these are my textures presented in a more orderly fashion. I have not deleted the original uploads as I like the idea of view my development in Google SketchUp and Blog presentation

Ricky Swallow:
In developing his artwork iMan Prototypes, Ricky Swallow used injected molded resin with colour tint in an edition of 4 units, each 16 x 11.5 x 18.5 cm.
In the process of using injected molded resin, a large force must be used to inject the polymer into the hollow mold cavity. Here, more melt must also be packed into the mold during solidification to avoid shrinkage in the mold. Injection molding machines consist of two basic parts, an injection unit and a clamping unit.

Injection Unit

The injection unit melts the polymer resin and injects the polymer melt into the mold. The unit may be ram fed or screw fed.

Clamping Unit

The clamping unit holds the mold together, opens and closes it automatically, and ejects the finished part. The mechanism may be of several designs: mechanical, hydraulic or hydro-mechanical.
The process can be succinctly synthesized in four parts: melting of plastic resin, injection of melt into the mold, cooling of the mold and removing the part.

Sidney Nolan:
Sidney Nolan committed his work, The Trial, with enamel on composition board measuring 90.7 x 121.2 cm.
Nolan’s artistic technique was unique and is seen as unusual. An enamel paint is a paint that supposedly dries to an extremely hard, usually glossy, finish. In reality, most commercially-available enamel paints are significantly softer than either vitreous enamel or stoved synthetic resins. Some enamel paints have been made by adding varnish to oil-based paint. Typically the term "enamel paint" is used to describe oil-based covering products, usually with a significant amount of gloss in them, however recently many latex or water-based paints have adopted the term as well. The term today means "hard surfaced paint" and usually is in reference to paint brands of higher quality, floor coatings of a high gloss finish, or spray paints.

After the tutorial I wasnt satisfied with my work, so this is a second attempt at the work that was asked. You will see the developed scale of the building and the finished nature of the design with textures applied

My 3D sketchup - second draft (second design)

This is my overal construction:

This is my 'above ground' stair; the adjective that discribed this stair and the space was 'Moody'

This, in the background is my 'underground' stair: the noun that discribed this stair and this space was 'Consumerism'

In the top left of this page is my original drawing of this space:

These are my replicas with stairs; they have alot of my messy writing
